They ranked it ahead of the M3 in the Uk too pointing out that the new M3 was
just around the corner.
Anyway a couple of weeks later Audi did a release on details of the new RS
series to match the new M3 and M5
These follow on from the 1994 RS2 which was a Porsche assembled 315hp 2.2l 80
Estate that under magazine testing managed
0-30mph faster than a Mclaren F1 - something like 1.6 secs
0-60mph - 4.8 secs
Top whack - 165 mph
Anyway the new cars are
RS4 - based on the S4 with a lot of tuning producing 400bhp - 2.7l twin turbo
RS6 - based on the A6 (S6 still not released) producing 500bhp - forget the
engine details
Also supposed to be a RS8 but details were sketchy at best

Check your newsstand - the mags have already reviewed the US-spec
version. C&D just did a comparo in the current issue and ranked it
ahead of the vaunted M3, carefully pointing out that a new, more
potent M3 is just over the horizon...
Yeah the S4 is one bad ass ride.....
