RE: is it dead? was(Roc with 84 GTI engine wont turn over)



Whoah!!

Don't ever turn the engine by the cam sprocket bolt. This can stretch the 
timing belt and shorten it's life. To turn the crankshaft, use the 
crankshaft bolt down by the belts.  It's 19mm. 

BTW, a quarter turn of the cam = half turn of the crank. It's concievable 
one of your rods is bent and hitting the side of the cylinder.
