It is possible to replace just the spring, we had to do that in my dad's
16valve. Another option, that i saw that Feenix had done to his 16v (which
becomes my 16v after tommorow  :) was to put a bit of velcro on top of the
handle as well as on the roof above the handle, As the handle is very
light, only a minimal amount of velcro appeared to be neccesary, but it
alsp appeared to hold up great.
Just another idea, but yeah, the spring repalcing is pretty easy, it is a
very simple mechanism.
