Probably the easiest way to spot a hyd head is with the valve cover off,
you will see all of the cam bearing caps. (The thing that the cam sets
into.)
The #4 cam bearing is completely missing on a hyd head. 
If all 5 cam bearing caps are there, its a hyd head.
