SPELLING. 

OK, dumb reply but im entitled. 

A transaxle is commonly refered/used on Front engine/FWD (Like our VW's)
or Rear Engine/RWD (Like on air cooled VW's ect.) combinations. Its like
a tranny and rear end all in one. (Because it IS really.)
