There is a way, but I was under the impression that it
was on A3 cars only.  Something about pushing a button
at the same time you hit the wipers & do the hokey
pokey.... or some crap like that. The display will
change to RPM.  You'd have to ask around in the
watercooled NG - that is where I read about it... or
do a dejanews search.
