[Q]Transaxle removal

It is only a couple of hours before I undertake the task of removing the
transaxle.  I was told that on some vws that in order to remove the
transaxle you have to turn the transaxle so that the lug on the flywheel
lines up with the tdc mark. I'm taking out a 2h out of my 85 wolfburg,
and putting in a ff.  Would I have to do this procedure for the removal
of the 2H and the installation of the FF.
