GTX - a few questions

Hi everyone,
well, after a couple of weeks off the list, I've returned, and I've got a new
car to show off too!  I've just bought a 1988 GTX, its only done 50k miles,
the body is absolutely perfect, and not to put to fine a point on it, I love
it!  Just a few questions for you lot though:
1. The badge on the radiator grille is dull grey, rather than shiny silver
like most VWs.  Is it supposed to be like this (something different for that
model?), or should I just swap it for the shiny silver badge I've got lying
about?
2.  The car's got an alarm, unfortunately the first thing I did after buying
the car was to take the battery out to put on charge.  As soon as I put the
battery back in, the alarm goes off, and the key fob won't switch it off.
Anything obvious I should try?
3. The bulb in the dials cluster which lights up the clock has blown - is
there any quick and (relatively) straight-forward way of replacing it?
