First of all NO WAY. I just dumped over $600 dollars into my sunroof.
You will most likely need two new cables. Since they changed the design
a few years ago you will need also new channel guides and the front
guide track. Probably also the little gear that moves it. All these
parts are dealer only. DO NOT go to a junkyard for parts as they are
probably also worn and as I said the cable was changed and all
associated parts. I put in all new parts. Everything. It cost alot never
mind labor when I gave up fucking with it not knowing I was stuffing the
wrong cables into the guides. What a nightmare. Works like new now
though! The distributor is another thing. I had the same problem. Oil
coming into the distributor. I found you can't order just the o-ring
(according to the dealer and outside source) so I had to buy a whole new
unit..$300 later and new plugs runs like new. I wouldn't pay $1000 for
that car unless it had under 100,000 on it which I doubt by its
problems. Just my advice.

P.S. you don't need any special tools or have to pop the headliner. It
should go fairly smooth (with the Bentley as a guide) but if shit is
worn replace it. You will just have to do it again if not.
