1.8 heads will not work with a 1.5/1.6/1.7 without modification.

The coolant flow is different.

ALL 1.7L engines had the small valve head stock. I don't see why you
couldn't
put on a JH head (if you think it would be less work than putting in a
whole
JH).
Hey hey hey... anyone want a JH? I have one! CHEAP!! (or a tranny... or
two, or
three?... hehe)
    And are the 1.7L intake manifolds really different from the JH ones?

guess I just never noticed...
