ohmigod

while trying to get my rocco running again I have discovered several things

the port for the air intake for the air shrouded injectors is 13 dollars from
my VW dealer.

while replacing that I thought that perhaps I would look at the conditon of
the fuel filter. so I took it out and was horrified to see that the fuel
inside the filter was black. I mean it looked like someone poured chocolate
syrup in there. ohmigod. nasty nasty nasty. so I replaced it.

and it still did not start. so I pulled a coupla injectors and tried to do a
flow test. I have no fuel at the injectors. the car ran today on starting
fluid. so I pulled the fuel line to the pressure reg off of the fuel
distributor and there is fuel there but when I activate the pump it spills out
lazily. I pulled the line off of the fuel filter and it spills out a bit
faster. I am borrowing a pressure tester tomorrow but it looks like I may have
a bad press reg. or fuel pump. probably the fuel pump- it makes all kinds of
noise back there.

I guess I will know more soon.
