They're awful. I bought a set of what I thought were white 80/100 H4 bulbs
at Waterfest, and when I got around to putting them in along with the
4-light grille into my Rabbit Convertible, discovered that one of them was
one of these "blue" tinted ones. It didn't look right and I don't believe
they're legal (any more than 80/100's are, but why call even more attention
to yourself?)

Of course, the point was rendered moot after about 5 minutes since someone
(not me, I was EXTREMEMLY careful) had touched the bulb. It blew out in a
most spectacular fashion, taking the inside of my headlight with it.....

Try this first! When Brett & I put the grille in my car, we put in the
relays in preparation for 80/100 headlights and 100w H3's in the inner high
beams. When we turned on the lights with the stock bulbs in, wow! Just
running thru the relays brightened the stock lights up quite nicely - we
were getting somewhere around 11v at the stock wires, thru the fusebox. Off
the relays, I think it was 13.2? Well, it was very close to what I get at
the battery with the alt charging.
