If you are talking about the coolant hose that runs from the side of the
head back to the heater box, those are your coolant temperature sensor
wires.  It controls the oxy sensor computer by taking the oxy sensor out of
the cicuit until the engine warms up.

If you mean the flange that connects fom the front of the head to the
radiator hose, one of the connectors (two wire) is the thermo time switch
that controls the cold start valve.  The other single connector on the
flange is for your water temperature guage.
