Old cars, New cars & New VW ads

Seen the new 'Get Ready' ads? Kinda cute. ( Dog jumps up in chair to get fan
air in the face, practicing for riding in the car - Lady in gym working just
her 'Clutch Muscle' - Guy at backyard picnic sticks drumstick in the blue
cheese dip and starts shifting gears )

Gonna drive my Scirocco over to the dealer next week and test drive the new
Jetta IV. I want the dealer to know that there is still a lot of older VWs out
there and not just chase after a bunch of new buyers. Growing the market share
is a good thing, for the company, the dealers ( and their families ), and
therefore it's good for us as well.

But I'm not a car buyer that looks for the new, cute, trade it in 3-5 years
kinda car. Hoping to add a wife sometime over the next year, year and a half (
shhh, don't give it away ) and I'd like to get her into a new car, replacing
the Toyota she's been driving the last ten. Of course it's gonna be VW, heh,
heh. I already drew her to the new Passats when they came out, she was
impressed, gonna see if the Jetta suits the need.

So, you guys. Get the S1/S2 all waxed up, drive on down by the dealer. Folks
will be impressed. Maybe even as yet non-VW types.

Peaceful days,
TBerk
