too muck slack?  The cable can be adjusted at the throttle end:  the ones I
have seen either have an adjuster with lock nuts mounted on the carb or on
the FI engines, the adjuster is part of the assembly that the cable goes
thru' on the rocker cover and is ridged plastic with a clip that you can
move to take up the slack.
