Re: Oil Warning light---DOH!

Gregg F. Gave the following advice for my oil light flickering on:

FA>If you're having problems like these with your oil pressure warning light,
FA>follow the very simple and very easy test procedure in the Bentley. Or if
FA>youre lazy, just replace the pressure switches. They about $10 each from th
FA>dealer. Yes, from the dealer. Thats probably the least expensive part they
FA>carry. The PL (16v) engine has two switches on the filter mount, one normal
FA>open, one normally closed. (the temp sender is on the head). It takes about
FA>seconds to change and is by no means worth a trip to the shop. I had to
FA>replace one on my s2 because it leaked and buzzed as you describe and I just
FA>changed both on my 84 GTi( one was leaking, and the other switched on at any
FA>rpm over 2k)

DOH! Greg, your right! Who woulda thought Bently would give a "quick
and easy" diagnostic? Not me, but there it is on p. 17-2, 17-3 ov the
Jetta, Golf, GTi 93-96 manual. Thanks. Hope this helps some others, too.
