Re: Knock Sensor Is it needed for 10:1 compression

You should use the knock sensor ignition if you can get it. It
is worth the upgrade and it is simple if you have a donor car. You
will need:
The distributor
The Brain next to the windshield wiper motor
The wiring harness between them.

There are a couple extra wires in that harness that you can cut out
later, but don't worry about that until the installation is complete.
In the dirt cars we mount the Brain to the roll cage, you could
drill a hole through the sill and mount your brain in the stock
position, just make sure it is under plastic so the rain will not
short it out. Throw in the distributer, and run the harness. It is
easy, plug in the distributer and the brain, run the leads to the
coil, and let her rip.
