[tech][Mk1][Deceleration valve][help]

  Does anyone else have this valve?  Has anyone removed this valve?  I
want to ditch mine cuz at one point it wasnt hooked up, but now that I
hooked it up, it doesnt seem to do anything.  Also, can I ditch my EGR
vacuum hoses and vacuum amplifier?  I and another list member think I can
do it without any problems, but I want to know for sure.  Also, can I get
away with only have the 2 vacuum lines, 1 from the back of the ign
distributor to the main vacuum hose (the one that goes to the booster) and 
the other that goes from the front of the ign distributor to the intake
manifold?  TIA...
