time to paint

Like it says, it's about time to paint my ride but there's a few things
a need to take car of first. One is the bumpers. I would take them off
and fill the holes if I had my way but I would probably get fucked with
by the man for this, right? The next option is to drill the shocks and
shove them on in. Now when I do this what do I do about the part that
now will stick into the wheel well and look desparately cheesy? Is
there another bumper I can transplant from another vehicle that is more
attractive? I'm having this growing urge though just to remove the
battering rams.

Next question, does anyone have a nice, used driver's side fender for my
ride that they could part or better yet does anyone know where to get a
new or used one in the Seattle area?

Finally, has anyone converted their trunk hatch to a solenoid release
mechanism. Any good suggestions on this matter?
