RE: NEW GAUGES BUT SOMETHINGS WRONG

did you move the needle up over the stop peg and mark the rest position
of the needle before you put took it off originally?  other than that, i
would guess electrical short/problem from moving all those wires
around....  time to break out that multi-tester...
