The Callaway kits went up to 12lbs with the stage II, without detonation
problems. They did not lower compression. The stage II used an aditional
injector mounted before the TB to enrich under boost, and an intercooler to
help keep the intake charge cool, and more dense. They did not modify the
compression, kept it at 8.5:1. I've seen decent gains on engines with as
high as 11:1 compression, but the engines didn't last long.
