16v-->8v cluster swap

	Can I swap a 140mph/8000 rpm instrument cluster from a 16v Scirocco
into my '84 8v ? Will the speedometer still be accurate?  Also, if the
cluster has an MFD, will it go crazy because my car doesn't have the inputs
for it or will it just show the time? My current odometer gets stuck every
9/10 of a mile and I have to reset it if I want the miles to keep on
counting...very annoying!!
