Bonnie & car woes

Just got back from the Outer Banks where Bonnie is doing her dirty work.
For the first time in 25 years of vactioning there, we heeded the
mandatory evacuation order. I've sat through many a hurricanes.

Anyway, I had a bit of car trouble on the travel down (once), while
there (a few times), and on the trip home (a few more times). There
was a loss of power while travelling similar to placing your hand over
the vacuum tube attachment or like having a piano on your back while
running. It usually lasted just a few moments, but on the trip home,
sometimes lasted a few miles at a time. On 3 occasions on the home
trip, it felt as though the power was cut for a split second causing the
car to 'hiccup'. I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to do to remedy my
situation. Anyone out there have any suggestions??? Anyone....
Beuler???
