I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but in both of my window regulators
that failed, my windows behaved like what was described above shortly
before they stopped working all together.

What exactly failed was the little plastic 3 fingered gear thingie
sheered off the 3 fingers. (Why the hell is that piece plastic, i'll
never know!) Motor runs but nothing happens. I don't know why the window
slowed before it finally bit the dust, but it did, nonetheless.

For your sake I hope im wrong, but as many know, im rarely ever wrong
about anything.
