    No nutserts required for the Mk1.  You use the existing bolts from the
bearing to install the bar.  It is about a 10 minute install.  Should the
bar not reach one of the studs you can file the hole a little larger.  A
little pointer here.  When putting it on, dont seat the bar all the way
down the bolt onto the chassis.  That may make it difficult to get the
bar on the other side.  Just make it so the bolt starts going into the
hole and hopefully all 4 should make it on.  Then you can press it down.

   Yeah, I would suggest media blasting it, but I am not sure how much it
would cost.  Sanding something flexible like that would take hours if not
days.
