RE: Blacked out front turn siganal lenses?

A couple of years ago, I used that stuff on my 83 GTI and MY friends 89
GTI. First we did mine and it worked great. Doing his sidemarkers, it
started to fish eye, though. We cleaned them with solvent really well
and the finish came out nice. The only complaint we had was that they
were a little dull looking. Off the lights came and we hit them with
Krylon Clear Gloss and they looked cool. All Black GTI, BLACK windows,
Black Signals, taillights, and haedlight covers, and Black wheels.
Allyou could see at night was the GTI emblems and the Rotors! Too much
for me, but it did look like the road warrior!

Here's another tip...if you want all RED lenses on a Golf II (not a
Scirocco, but maybe your friend has one...) tape off the bottom (red)
Lenses, and hit the top ones with a mist of Krylon Red & some clear. If
you're cool, you'll get the color to match, and you won't *completely*
paint the lense. I havn't seen transparent red paint yet, but I wasn't
really looking....
