I've got the 1.8 88 Cabriolet engine in mine. It is indeed a JH. (Actually, 
the one you're looking at sounds *exactly* like mine...) Same mileage, same 
comp... How much? FWIW, I paid $400CDN (+/- $285USD) for it...

Hey Shawn, found a few engines, had a few questions(for everybody else
too!)....isn't a 88 Cabriolet 1.8 a JH??? I found one with 80k on it, 140
compression all the way across, also a 87 Golf engine with 116K and 140
compression all the way across......the cab motor is $350, the Golf
$250....either one work? and be legal...I'm actually just gonna use the
short block........also a possibility of a rocco engine short
block...don't know price, miles or year of car yet....

So, what do you guys think....what specific motor should I be looking
for....(PS--found a Fox 1.8, 24K for $500.......)....which if any of these
are legal for DSP????
