Help guys?!

Some help please!
Any personal experience info would greatly be appreciated.

A few days ago a small miss developed, in my 16V rocco, in the 3-4k rpm
range. Not too bad I could pull past it without too much hesitation, but
last night on the way home from work (as soon as I pulled out of the
parking garage) it started acting like the rev-limiter was kicking in
about 3200 rpm. It would just start bucking wildly and I couldn't pull
out of it. Eventually I figured out how to ease past 3500 rpm but it
misses pretty badly all the way up the rpm range past 3200 rpm. It
really sucks, I am sure you guys know how hard it would be drive a 16V
without going past 3 grand, especially since I live in a pretty hilly
area.
A while back I had a similar problem, it was a disconnected vacuum hose
to the knock sensor brain, but that is not the problem this time (I
checked).
By the way, when in neutral, it will rev up just fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
