16v throttle body on an 8v intake??

  As the subject line says...will a 16v TB fit an 8v intake without any
modification other than dremeling the intake to open it up?? Is the large
venturi as large as the Neuspeed?? I have access to one and it will not cost
me. So, all you gurus....let me know. It'll save me taking the Neuspeed offa
my GLi.

     '84 Wolfsburg Scirocco (mods will now commence)
     '91 Passat GL 2.0 16v (no mods.....the wife's car)
