The glass man.  I did this retro-fit on my 82. VW used small metal clips
that were glued to the window, and painted around the clips black, so you
couldn't see them.  I used rear-view-mirror adhesive to glue mine to the
window and mine was already tinted pretty dark, so I did not need to
paint the glass, I just painted the clips, so they wouldn't not shine
through the tint.  
Does this make sense?
