VW started using Motronic on their 2.0L 16v's in 1990 and it is nothing
like Digifant. Motronic is mechanical fuel injection, while Digifant is
electronic fuel injection with electronic injecters.

Not true, my 81 and 82 Sciroccos had/have oxygen sensors.
On a side note, my friends 83 Ford Ranger is carbureted and has a
computer and oxygen sensor, don't ask me why.

And don't forget that VW was the first car manufacturer to ever use
electronic fuel injection. They had it on their 68 Beetles and Type 3's.
