I just gotta slide this one in edgewise..

Back in the late '60's, when I had my first VW, a '68 Bug with sunroof, totally
stock, I raced and WON against a Corvette. Really.

We started at a light on Mannheim Road west of Chicago, and raced for about
a half mile.
He blew past me at first, but when he realized the size of the POTHOLES
ahead, quicky gave up.
I flashed past him at about 50, thereby winning the race. Beetles don't much
mind rough
roads...and I did not even lose a hubcap...

So much for 'high performance'...but I don't think I would attempt a similar
feat in my 'rocco!
