Fuel economy

Question:

Are Scirocco's in general (8v) gasoline suckers?  I get a very 
poor fuel economy.  (300km/tank)

Here is what I done so far:  Maybe I can get fresh ideas.

New air filter (K&N)
had my injectors cleaned,
new spark plugs
new distributor/rotor
fairly new oil
engine running around 95 oC (new rad was just installed; easy job)
good engine compression
I refill my tank every week

Could it be my catalyser or fuel pump?
