Here's my view of the whole thing.  If you don't wear it for 
yourself, where it for your PASSENGER!  If you crash or get 
hit and end up in ditch on your side with your driver's side up,  
think about it...where are YOU gonna go?  Yep, right on top of 
your beloved girlfriend or maybe your best friend.  After my
little incident like that, I felt guilty as hell and I've been 
wearing my seatbelts all the time since then.  Luckily, the friend 
I landed on is 6'7" and 260 pounds, so I didn't hurt him.  But, 
I'm sure your girlfriend is half that size.  You'll crush her, man...
think about it.
