Could be, Mike, a 268 would be nice! But if its something like that I
wouldnt know; I havent driven any other 1.8 16vees, and Ive never
pulled the top off and measured...
I figure its probably an old stabilizer valve and/or a pin hole 
in a vacuum tube...
{BTW, saw photos of the VW Polo with the 2.9 VR6 in it- man 'o man,
what a stomper! It has the same power:weight ratio as a 911.
