        My car had the "searcing for E.T." look, turns out that it was a
combination of the weak stock springs (VW never did get the rear of the
Scirocco right) and blown rear shocks.  After replacement of both shocks and
springs by a nice Boge progas/ Hor (damn umlaut) Technologies Spring set,
the car looks good and handles wonderfully.
