I went the easy route.  I found a wrecked 82 Scirocco with the single wiper.
 the two blade system unbolted easily and the single blade went in perfectly
minus bending the bracket.  perfect fit, wiring plugs were the same.  I got a
piece of rubber the plugs holes (like in the fir wall) from a guy who
installes cell phones.  Looks pretty good.
