Efficiency, oil changes

Yeah, that's a good idea! I'm intersted, too. . .I really haven't
driven mine enough to know for sure, but with the second fill-up, it
looked like about 30. I'll let you know for sure next week. (It's
snowing like hell here now, so any mileage figures I could come up
with would be badly skewed.)

Well, if you've gone that far, I'd say go ahead and change the oil.

> How for do you all go on your oil?

Well, I change mine roughly every 3,000, but I'm not a fanatic about
it. I firmly believe that oil is good for at least 7,500 miles. I
read an article in *Car and Driver* several years in which oil
engineers stated that if you change it more often than that, you're
wasting oil. If the engineers, who definitely have a stake in your
buying more oil, say that, I tend to believe them. I just don't want
to take chances (GRIN) so I change mine every 3K.

The last I read, synth oil was good for twice the mileage of
conventional, but I don't use it, so I probably shouldn't comment.
I'd go 6K, then change.

Yeah, but can you imagine the fun you'd miss?
