Re: 16v hesitation



As mentioned re-confirm your cam timing, and since you mentioned a
cold start problem, and being a fellow 16v owner, check the following;

     CAM Timing/Belt slip as mentioned (relates to performance woe)
     Usual Fuel Filter dirty/clogged?
     Fuel Pump relay (I had a related hard start problem here once)
     Connections to/fro battery (voltage drop when cold starting)
     16v's notorious HALL Distributor failure (had this problem once
also) (unlikely in your case I think)
     Coil  (my most recent problem on my GLi, hard starting cold, and
terrible performance below 4000rpm)
