Nope, just regular glass, it shares the same windshield as the Lotus
Esprit (Lotus was contracted for a lot of engineering work), the rest of
the glass is DMC specific.

I don't know how Lambo does the jackknife doors. as for other Gullwing
cars, the Mercedes 300SL used very lightweight half-doors (it's kind of
like sitting in a bathtub when the doors are open, look at
http://members.aol.com/GullWing4U/index.htm)

The Bricklin used pneumatic cylinders and an air tank in the trunk.
opening the doors was slow, like 15-20 seconds to wait before you could
get out.

Yes, it uses them as well. They help support the door when it is open and
the spring has untwisted a quarter turn. The biggest problem with the
gullwing doors is leaking. DMC got it sorted out after a modification
mid-production. Bricklins leaked like a sieve.

I would like to own a DMC someday, but I don't look at them as a sports
car, more like a collectible that is actually affordible. I have seen pics
of a DMC with a Buick GN engine and with a Chevy 350 & a B&N supercharger.
That would be cool.
