The only reason I did the shortened shifter was to achieve a "poor man's"
short shift.  I did have to adjust my seatback way up and you do have to
reach farther than in the stock position.  However, the shift action is
very fast compared to stock, the Momo knob (tall anatomic) looks like it
was born to be there, the stereo is no longer ever blocked, you don't hit
your passenger's leg when shifting into fifth, and the leather boot reaches
all the way to the knob.  A very cool and very cheap conversion (I already
had the Momo knob but couldn't use it cuz it interfered with everything at
the stock length)
