from GTX to GTI

Hi all,

I own a 86 Scirocco GTX, it has a 1.8 liter engine (carburator) witch 8
valves. The enige code is EX, and I am planning to modify my engine to a
GTI engine. Is this possible or must I buy a GTI engine.
I'am trying to get as many info as possible to do the job. Tips are very
welcome.
