Hi Tim good to see another Scirocco buff on the list too.  Yes your 
correct, I should have been more specific about the 79 model year.

Yeh I had a 79 non S with a 5sp for a while, It had a really strange 
FO code trans apparently 79 only, Had very strange internals nothing 
interchanged. 
The crazed microfische says that a 79 "sport" model was a GTI, But 
the scirocco's seemed to always get the short end when it came to 
motors. Thanks VW!!

Yes the emblem has been on the film for quite some time #531853687AA 
& last time I checked was available for around $14.00 (MK1 style 
only)

I have only seen 1 that fell in to the VIN range that had the 
Scirocco GTI emblem on it. The other one had a red emblem with no "S" 
at the end kinda like what Andre described his car has. But maybe the 
other guy pulled a Shawn:-)
