        I guess I'll be the last one to chime in on this.  I gotta throw my
rod in with the others who oppose the name change for pretty much the
reasons that they have already stated (very well I might add).  In short,
most of us are here since we love Scirocco's in particular.  The added
knowledge base of the entire A1, hell the entire VW crowd would be welcome
but not at the expense of a large increase in volume or dilution of
Scirocco related content.  I don't care what kinda car the list member owns
as long as his/her post is Scirocco related (hello Mannix).  I'd love to
hear about any Scirocco mods whether it involves A1 bolt-ons or the
dropping in of a turboed and NOS equipped Honda Civic motor.  On the other
hand, I'd be less interested in reading about modifying a Rabbit GTI grill
unless it is relevant to the Scirocco.
        No matter what, I think "Scirocco" must be kept in the name of the
newsgroup.  I would have probably joined an A1 list but when I saw
"Scirocco newsgroup" I JUMPED.  Although some have said that it's only a
name change, look what happened to VW & Porsche when they became EC.

PS.  OK, I know that when VW&P changed their name, they stated a change in
focus and a big reason for the loss of A1 coverage is that it's a slowly
dying platform.  But I can still bitch and moan about it :)
