Little update, I have the Tectonics 2" stainless steel system on my Scirocco
and the TT 2 1/4"Alumnized system installed on my GLi. (Not even a week old
yet)
The Scirocco system is nearly as clean as the day I installed it except for
the aged look of the innards on the exhaust tip. Its got that deep soft powder
carbon deposit look to it. The entire outside of my 2 year old system looks
beautiful except for the slight color change due to the high temps i've been
able to put through it over the time i've had it. In my opinion, its in much
better shape than I ever expected it to be in. But then again, I live in some
of the best climate in the world where salt is for french fries only!

I read that thread and recall he lived in a high salt use area. Even still, on
a 1yr old system, it should still be in great shape. It really sounds like he
got a bad batch of SS to me. He did say that the entire system is covered in
rust "except" for the muffler. That, to me, says it all.
