Fuel enrichment switch

Greetings again -

Does anyone know what is required to retrofit the throttle-mounted fuel
enrichment switch to a car that didn't start out with one?  Also, I've
noticed that my fuel distributor has an additional sender/switch on the
aft end (facing the firewall) - it's attached to a fuel line that loops
over to the other side of the fuel unit.  This doesn't seem to be on any
of the GTIs I've looked at - anyone know what it's for?
