Re: Gains from racing headers

When I bought my Scirocco 16v it already had the racing header. It wasn't
even the last owner who put it. It was some previous owner. Apparently the
downpipe/manifold from the factory had deteriorated. The header was made for
racing cars, therefore it had no provisions for smog stuff & cat, but that
was fixed by drilling a hole in one of the tubes and istalling a nut & bolt
there for the CO probe, and by adapting a cat from an A2 Jetta. My header has
no marks or writings as to who made it, but by looking at pictures of
different headers I believe mine was made by EuroRace. The manufacture
performance stuff for air and water cooled VWs and are frequently advertising
on VW Trends. The header sells for a little higher than $200. The K&N cost me
$32, the Cherry Bomb $15 and the 3" stainless steel tip coist me $40. Pretty
cheap for better breathing. I'm looking forward to put wider tubes, as the
ones Techtonics sells.

See ya, keep on Sciroccoing!
