This depends purely on how it is driven.  If you do not rev it up, the
engine will last a lot longer.  The way this engine seals itself in
combustion, as you know, it uses sprung flaps (sorry, I've no idea what they
call them) at the tips of the rotor.  The higher the rpm, the more stress
that is placed upon these flaps.  If you keep the rpm down, they will last a
good while, and with such a lot of power, consistent power.  If you are
comparing them to VWs, you are deluding yourself.  Apples and oranges.  How
many engines do you know that you can buy from a rebuilder for $1200 with
less than 1600cc's and generate 135 hp ( I think I am close on this)?  I
will stick with my trusty, rusty '84 GTi, but lets get some perspective here.
