Just my .2, I don't know if you can get them over in the States, but 
the Alpine CD-Players fit fine into Scirocco glove boxes. They aren't 
too expensive, and are probably the warmest sounding stereos around. 
I use Alpine head and CD units in my Corrado at the moment, but used 
to have it in the Scirocco, in the glove box.

Another alternative is the Denon 5 (or maybe six) disc DIN sized 
player. This I thought could either go in the glove box (although 
you'd have to chop a hole out of the back, or underneath the 
head-unit, which I think would look fairly cool!
