The Bosch Platinums available for VW's are not true platimum plugs,
there is just a small dot on the electrode. This is why they are so cheap
(relatively). The Platinum plugs for other cars, such as the 911 Turbo
have a full platinum electrode and also a platinum ground electrode.

The partial platinum plugs seem to work well in some cars and not in
others. In my opinion the copper core plugs are fine, if you want something
better skip the platinum and go to the silver.

Here's the scoop on Bosch plugs for Sciroccos:

W7DC - basic copper plug, single electrode for 8V
W7DTC - copper 3-electrode plug for 8V
F6DTC - copper 3-electrode plug for 16V

WR7DP - pseudo-platinum single electrode for 8V
F6DP - pseudo-platinum single electrode for 16V

W7DSR - silver single electrode for 8V, most expensive
F6DSR - silver single electrode for 16V, most expensive

I hope this helps,
